These xylophone stands will allow us to more easily use all of our classroom xylophones at the same time. In our general music classes, we typically study a certain song and do an activity with it and learn some sort of musical literacy skill like learning a new rhythm symbol, a new note on the music staff, or a new musical term. We conclude the study of the song by adding instruments to it and getting to practice the new skill we learned.
The xylophones are everyone’s favorite instrument to play in class.
We have a total of 6 xylophones in our classroom but typically only can easily use 3 of them. Three of our xylophones have stands and 3 of them must sit on the floor to use. With xylophone stands, ANY student can play them including those with physical disabilities and/or special needs like needing to use wheelchairs or crutches.
The stands also allow us to quickly set up and tear down for other classes coming in. They give the students the independence to set up themselves and put away the large xylophones themselves. With more stands available for all of our xylophones, we will be able to increase playing time in our class to allow students to have longer turns at the xylophones to be able to practice their skills more efficiently and help control potential classroom management issues for those waiting for their turn.
