My students need mini dry erase boards with markers for the writing center. They would also benefit from the sentence games which will teach them how to write sentences.

My Students
My scholars are energetic and need hands on activities to keep them motivated. Writing is a challenge for my class. My goal is for my scholars to write complete sentences.
An investment in knowledge pays the best interest.-Benjamin Franklin
Investments in our future will benefit everyone!
My 25 scholars are from inner city Cleveland.
These children come from poverty stricken families. Many of them are in temporary housing at the moment. Only four of them have had any previous Head Start or preschool exposure. Most of them were unable to write there names before they came to school. Now, all of them can write their names!
These scholars are excited to come each day, not only for academics, but for food. My class is a wonderful group of busy and energetic five and six year Olds. They need hands on activities in order to keep them motivated in their learning process. My class loves to work in small groups during center rotations. They enjoy helping one another learn the task at hand.
My Project
I would use these dry erase boards in small and whole groups with the scholars. This will allow me to see their understanding of the writing process. The sentence building activities will be used in small groups for them to practice learning how to create a complete sentence. The clipboards and pencils will be used for them to write the room. This is a fun way to get the scholars writing. They will be able to write down, friend's names, sight words, and number words that are in the room. In center rotations, the class will use the Hot Dots to practice their phonics skills. We are working on sounding out words to write in our sentences. Hot Dots are a very fun and engaging way for the scholars to learn phonics skills. This will help them to write words in their sentences. The ultimate goal is for my kindergrtners to be successful writers by the end of the year. I know these supplies will assist them with learning to become excellent writers.
The dry erase boards and markers will encourage my scholars to write.
They love to write on my big white board. They would feel so important to have their own. The sentence building activities will allow them to practice making sentences, which will translate over into them writing their own sentences on paper. Being able to write will allow my scholars to express their thoughts and feelings to the world. They will be so exited to read and share their writing with others!!
