This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The students I see are working on specific targeted phonics skills to help them become grade-level readers. This requires them to use magnetic tiles and apply their learning by writing sounds, words, and sentences. The paddles and LCD writing boards would be used for word building while the ink would be used for printing practice reading passages.
Word building is essential for building foundational skills.
These foundational phonics skills are necessary for students to become fluent and successful readers. All students should have the opportunity to be successful in school.
