My Students

My students are at-risk at this time because of missing so much school in kindergarten, due to COVID-19. They are very low academically, especially in reading and math. First grade is so critical for reading development and it is essential that we get our students as close to reading level as possible. Research indicates that getting on reading level in first grade has life-long affects.

My Project

My students are very low in reading and math because of missing so much of kindergarten because of COVID-19. Writing is a great way to improve reading and develop skills to be literate. Research indicates that getting a child on level in first grade is critical because it can determine how he/she will function in reading in the future. Math skills follow the same pattern.

First grade reading and math are critical for helping a child with future reading and math skills.

As indicated above, being on-level in first grade is critical for development and future progress.
