Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Teaching students how to write is a challenge. In 4th grade, students learn to write narratives, multi-paragraph informational papers, opinion pieces, and even poetry. It takes a lot of instruction and a lot of practice. Every year, I am proud of the work my students produce, and I love to showcase it on our classroom writing board. This year, I want to include essential materials in this "writing" area. The tablecloth will be used to cover the table where all of their writing supplies will be stored. It will make the area more inviting.
In this writing area, they will be able to print their finished documents using our new classroom printer, which is why we need more ink.
They will also be able to pick up any writing materials they need. Showcasing their printed work motivates them to continue practicing, and they love having the option to handwrite their finished work or print it. Lastly, many of my students use sticky notes during the writing process to take notes, add to their writing, and give peer feedback. We use a lot of sticky notes for this, and we need more.
