My students need pencils, a pencil sharpener, 40 writing prompts journals, a set of Take It to Your Seat Writing Centers and a set of Overhead Graphic Organizers for Writing.

I have 35 students that I teach writing to as well as an entire 3rd grade class. Most of my students would be considered in the poverty level and we need all the help we can get. I have a high concentration of special needs students and I have to buy many of the materials myself. Just the normal pencil and paper is hard to come by.

Funding has been cut and I really need the supplies to ensure that my students give 100% when it comes state assessment time as well as in the work place. The items that I have requested like pencils, paper and writing workbooks will directly affect the level of mastery that my students can do on their writing portfolios.

All of the materials I requested are writing materials that will directly enhance my students writing abilities. Most days we have to struggle just to make sure everyone has pencils. Every item I have requested pencils, paper, teacher resources will enhance my classes performance as well as help me with my teaching techniques.

You will make it possible for my students to reach their utmost potential in the academic area of writing. This will also help overcome some of the socioeconomic issues that my students face everyday. Sometimes just not having to worry about pencil and paper means the world.
