My Students
My students share a common passion to understand and develop solutions to today's environmental issues. I teach AP Environmental Science and an elective course offered through our Career and Technical Education department called Sustainability & Renewable Technologies. Many of my students go on to pursue majors and careers in environmentally related fields. They want to create a sustainable future for themselves and future generations.
My students are ethnically diverse, and many are first generation immigrants to the United States.
They strongly value education, and work tirelessly to succeed academically.
My Project
This writing tablet will allow my students to follow my instruction in real time online as I walk them through how to solve complicated environmental science calculations. Now I have to write out the steps ahead of time on paper, upload a picture of the solution and passively walk my students through it. This is not nearly as engaging and effective as having the students follow along as I write out the solution in real time.
It will help students stay engaged and focused in an online learning environment, which is very challenging for many students with attention issues.
This tablet will bring me as close to a real in-person classroom environment as I can create in a virtual, online environment.
