The students who take my engineering and robotics classes are a part of a large, urban school and come from many different cultural, ethnic, and economic backgrounds. However, these pieces of their identities do not define them.
The students who take my classes are curious, creative, and in general, they are thinkers.
They come in every day willing to learn and be challenged. They are future engineers and scientists, and I want to help start them off on the right foot.
My Project
Communication is an important aspect in all STEM fields. Being able to communicate effectively is a vital skill for my high school students in our STEM Pathways to learn, especially as they work to take on big and exciting challenges.
In order to learn these communication skills, our students need pencils and erasers, markers, dry-erase markers for their whiteboards, and various size Post-it notes in order to communicate their solutions as they work in teams as they develop skills that will allow them to be future STEM innovators.
Students who take our STEM Pathway classes learn about the importance of and how to communicate efficiently and effectively and these materials will help them do so.
