This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

More and more students are aware of their very high screen time stats and are increasingly requesting to work on paper. Having a single notebook dedicated to a single class will also allow students to more easily look back at their notes and brainstorm to continuously make connections with new ideas.

The hope is that working, taking notes, and brainstorming ideas on paper will help students engage with their thoughts a bit more deeply, rather than simply doing the bare minimum.

While it is possible to access previous assignments in their Google Drive, many students complain that it is not as easy as it seems on their iPads so many simply do not do it. Removing this "extra step" will hopefully allow students to revisit their thoughts multiple times throughout a lesson and add to them as new information is introduced. Additionally, when students work in notebooks it is much easier for me (their instructor) to provide timely feedback that, again, they will be able to revisit throughout the semester.
