When you walk into our classroom, you will be greeted by sixteen energetic students eager to learn. Our school is located in a trauma sensitive, rural community. We are a co-taught classroom where the students are lucky enough to have two teachers, one regular education teacher and one special education teacher.
Our classroom is made up of a variety of learners with different needs.
With the extra hands of another teacher in the classroom, we are able to help reach more students academically and provide more detailed instruction.
My Project
Our second grade students will benefit from personal spelling dictionaries and writing journals to help them with their writing. Our students are working hard at becoming word detectives and improving their spelling. When students get stuck on a tricky word they need a place to record their work for future use.
The personal spelling dictionaries will help the students keep track of their works and provides a place to record their new words.
The writing journals will allow a place for my students to write about their reading. We are looking for resources the students can use to help them during independent and small group workshop. In the past the personal spelling dictionaries and writing journals have been a tremendous help during writing, reading, and spelling workshop. Due to lack of budget we were unable to purchase the dictionaries and writing journals for our students this year.
