This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students persevere, do their best, and take pride in their education. Many come from low income, first-generation proud immigrant families. They are dedicated to their education because they know and appreciate the daily sacrifices their parents make for them. To them, school is exciting, something to celebrate, and they are grateful to come every day. I am teaching at a new school and new grade level and I need a few important supplies to make learning, reading, and math more accessible and engaging for my eager students.
My Project
I am beginning at a new school this year and I need some basic suppliers to get my kinders thinking, writing, creating, and bringing their ideas to life. I am also trying to build an inviting, cozy, warm and engaging class library to give the students a place to relax and enjoy the fun in reading. A shag rug is a perfect idea to give space for the kids to spread out, lay on their tummies and sit next to a buddy with a good book and a friendly place to practice new reading skills and explore the world around them. Let's face it, even us grown-ups like a place to kick back and enjoy a good book!
