This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are like little sponges. They are eager to learn and are excited about what is in store for them each day. I teach in Pride, Louisiana. My students are from low income families. All students in my class of 20 receive free breakfast and lunch.
This year my students are low income families with very little resources in their homes, but they come in filled with love for one another and an excitement to learn.
With these new learning materials my class will be drawn into the center where learning will be more fun.
My Project
Help me give my students an inviting and interesting writing center. These materials will provide my students with a place to practice their writing independently, structures to stay organized, and materials to help them stay engaged. We plan on using the stamps to write words from around our classroom and sight words. We will also use the stamps to practice writing our names. We will use the letter strips to use with pencils to practice writing our names and words after we have stamped them. Writing is very important for our students as it is a skill we will use every day of our lives!
