This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My transitional kindergarten and kindergarten students come from mostly low-income, high-poverty Spanish-speaking households. They are part of loving families but are faced with difficult challenges both in and out of the classroom.
It is important for me to provide my students with a challenging, creative, meaningful, and developmentally appropriate learning environment.
My Project
Learning how to write letters in TK and kindergarten can be difficult. Some of my students have never held a pencil before starting school.
These hands-on materials will make learning how to write letters easy and fun!
We will use these materials for hands on writing centers that are kinesthetic and developmentally appropriate. The mini magnetic white boards can also be used for guided handwriting practice and for sorting and manipulating magnetic letters. The popsicle sticks and dough are great for early learners to make letters. They dough also helps strengthen hand muscles. These materials will help my students learn how to write letters and eventually words and sentences!
