Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
At our elementary school we have amazing students, many of whom come from households with lower socioeconomic status. We want to support them in their use of technology to be successful and competitive in the future.
Most of our students are also English Language Learners and they work hard in both languages.
We say, "Being bilingual is a super power!"
They are so excited about using our new devices! They are learning new technological life skills at a rapid pace, but occasionally they have difficulty writing with just a finger on our touch screen devices.
My Project
Our district, one of the largest in the state of Illinois, recently went one-to-one in 5th and 6th grades. Please help us equip our students with tools to help them get excited about technology in the classroom. These stylus pens will provide enough for two grade levels (6 classrooms) to have access to this kind of technology.
Using interactive documents and the stylus pens, we can turn any boring worksheet into a group project or interactive PDF!
Students can share ideas and see what each other are writing with the stylus pens in real time. This equipment will help us improve handwriting while getting more familiar with electronic documents. Stylus pens will help us utilize these documents more easily!
