My students need the Storytelling Writing Box for their writing stations this year. This, as well as the other supplies, will help students WANT to learn more!
My classroom has 21 desks and 21 chairs. To many, these items alone mean nothing. To me, they mean everything. They represent the 42 feet that will walk to these chairs, the 42 hands that will work at these desks, and the 42 eyes and ears that will soak everything in. I only have 2,400 minutes a week to impact these already incredible minds and most of that time is spent impacting me.
I want my students to look back 20 years from now and remember the shared experience we had in our classroom.
When I look back on this group of kiddos I am going to remember their beaming smiles when a friend cheered them on, their little giggles when they told their teacher to stop dancing along to a song, and their big hearts when they had to tackle problems inside and outside the classroom.
My Project
By creating a creative learning environment, my students will feel safe and comfortable. I will create a space that makes them feel like they can be or do anything. My students look to each other as a first grade family. I want them to not only want to learn when they walk through my door, but also cheer each other on as they do so. We are only at the beginning of a new school year but I can already tell this group is a special bunch. They already want to see one another succeed. I want my classroom theme to be able to match that. By using the Storytelling Writing Kit, we will be able to learn more about each other in a comfortable and inviting setting.
