Help me give my students a book binding machine for our classroom, with which to bind our own authored pieces and USB drives to store chapter book MP3 files for learning from mentor authors on audio books.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Ekins's classroom raised $155

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am a fourth-grade teacher in an urban school. Despite many challenges, my students come to school each day eager to learn how to learn and drive their own learning.
My students love school because they experience thrilling and motivating educational experiences that simultaneously improve their math, writing, reading, science and social studies skills.
This often takes monetary funding I am not given by my state or school district. Unforgettable learning experiences in fourth grade help my students retain learning in their long-term memories.
My Project
Writing can seem very boring and purposeless to fourth graders. I ensure that after each writing unit, the students publish a final draft that will live in our class library for the rest of the school year.
The school binding machine is always mysteriously broken, and our classroom could make good use of our own, well-cared for machine.
It would be a luxury to have a binding machine at our fingertips to bind published writing pieces.
I would also like the students to have an opportunity to listen to expert authors on audio-books. However, our school computers no longer have CD drives for the books I have. Putting the files on USB drives would allow the students access to our fabulous collection of audio-books and expert author ideas!
