This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Most students have difficulties expressing themselves in writing. One of the biggest challenges is having students describe, in detail, what they are thinking. How wonderful it would be to allow them to learn to do so without fear or intimidation.

Our school is located next to the US-Mexico border.

All our students are eager learners. They are very humble and eager to please and work hard to meet all expectations imposed upon them with the rigor of Common Core Standards. Our students are 90% English language learners. There is a great amount of poverty in our area. One of the biggest obstacles for our students is language. Poor grammar is often used by both children and adults alike. We need to prepare our students to be able to compete with other students from all over the world.

My Project

Imagine a classroom able to use their imagination to write narrative stories, give personal opinions, and inform others on a given topic. All this is possible with the proper materials. Some children have difficulties holding a pencil and are discouraged because of this. With the proper pencils and a grip handle to help them learn how to hold a pencil, they will be able to use the composition books requested to write informative paragraphs, personal narratives, and give opinions.

With your generous donations you would be impacting the future of many children of America.

My students will be able to grow as writers without the intimidation of not knowing how to hold a pencil properly or of using college ruled paper from a notebook to write upon. With your help a future author may be created!
