Writing and Art Supplies for 28 Second Graders in the South Bronx

I am a 29 year old teacher of a class of 28 bright, curious and wonderful second grade students. I work in an extremely impoverished area of the South Bronx. Although I am not from the area, I have grown very attached to the kids from the area, as well as the community. This is my seventh year teaching at my school. It is extremely challenging, but incredibly rewarding. Nothing makes me happier than to see my kids learning and prospering.
This year I was given the opportunity to teach a gifted class. My students are unbelievably intelligent, expressive and inquisitive. They absorb all of the information that I teach to them like little sponges! It's truly amazing. My wish is to give them everything that they need to grow and learn. I give them as much as I can with my own money, but that only goes so far.
Some of my kids don't have paper, pencils or notebooks at home. I spend my own money getting them as many basic supplies as I can. I would LOVE to be able to add to my small Writing/Art center in my classroom. My kids are very expressive in their writing, and I would love to be able to further foster that.
Right now, my Writing/Art center contains some paper, crayons and some markers. I would love to be able to add new materials for them to write and create with. My students, as well as myself, would be very grateful!
