Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My kindergarten class typically works for part of the day at hands-on learning centers that integrate all subject areas. These activities and centers tap into my students' natural curiosity and give ample opportunities for them to be active participants in their own learning.
Each day is a new opportunity to make an impact on their lives, to inspire and drive their desire to learn.
These energetic 5 year-olds have a love for learning and enjoy hands-on learning opportunities as they discover the world around them.
My Project
Our Kindergarten students have been busy writing their own stories during Writers' Workshop. As we start the second semester, students are now making their own Writers' Journals. Students will use the staples and staplers to make their own books and the cable ties will be used to create flip books.
These materials will help students stay organized as they use their creativity to make their very own journals!
Students are now able to read and write many sight words that they incorporate in their very own stories. I look forward to reading some of their new materials in their student made journals!
