My Project

One of the purposes of our English senior course is to consider the ways in which literary works can provide commentary about our world.

For our unit titled "Writers as Agents of Change" I want to provide them with both fiction and nonfiction book choices that focus on bringing awareness to a new topic, inspiring hope or resilience, helping people who are struggling, or inspiring people to enact change.

My seniors are intelligent, passionate critical thinkers and communicators. By allowing students to choose from a selection of books, I hope to further their knowledge & engage them in small group discourse about issues evident in these books. Additionally, students will use these books, along with additional research, to create a culminating multimodal project.
