My Students
Remember what it was like to start a new school year with a new backpack, school supplies and that maybe even a trapper keeper? You can help my students have the same experience by helping to supply our classroom with fresh writing supplies for this fall!
My students are amazing.
They are like most teenagers out there- they love movies, clothes, and music. The reality is, most live at or below the poverty level and school supplies may need to take a back seat to groceries and rent. I try to provide as much as I can, without question.
Our school is an alternative high school and many of my students have been out of school for a period of time, for a range of reasons. Our school is a second chance and my kids deserve as many quality resources as I can offer! With your help I can make this possible.
My Project
I am requesting 90 writing journals for students to use on a daily basis through out the fall. THey will record ideas, reflections, first drafts, and inspiration about the materials we are covering in class. I have also requested post-its for students to build active reading skills and collect information as they read and research. In addition to the journals and post-its, markers for collaborative group work as well as individual projects will help support my students learning.
Every student should have the opportunity to succeed in school.
Starting with year with fresh materials that they can call their own is a great start! Your donation will help kick-start this year for my high school students!
