My Students
Our NYC public school serves a wide range of students in grades K-5. We offer students rigorous academics, have dedicated teachers and a safe learning environment. Our students are enthusiastic learners with wide ranging interests and abilities that come from many different backgrounds.
My goal is to provide students with a variety of learning opportunities that meet their diverse needs and lead to academic success.
The first graders in my class are eager to be challenged every day and my challenge is to accomplish that by providing the environment, resources, and materials that will give them the support they need to realize their potential.
My Project
My first graders love writing and illustrating fiction and nonfiction books. With a color laser printer, they will be able to print out and add colorful real photos and clip art to their animal research projects from the Internet, make copies of their completed books to share with others, and print out information they need.
My first graders take a great deal of pride in becoming published authors and making their books look like the books they are reading.
Seeing a polished finished product motivates my students not only to do their best writing, but they also take initiative in creating new projects independently!
