Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom.
The majority of my students come from Hispanic and Marshallese backgrounds.
Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.
My students are the most well-deserving, appreciative people that I know. I consider myself the lucky one to get to be their teacher!
My Project
To be successful in life students need to be able to write correctly! This could be anything simple as a special note or text message, to more complex things like research papers or resumes.
By donating to our project my students are going to receive some of the necessary materials needed to become successful writers!
The use of personal students dictionaries will allow them to add special words that they are unsure of how to spell while they are writing. Having good quality pencils will also help them stay focused writing and not worrying about having to stop and sharpen their pencils all of the time. Once they are in that groove they will become authors!! The sentence strips will be beneficial for when we are working in small groups to better our writing before we share with the rest of the class.
We will be so grateful for the help you are willing to give us in getting these supplies!
