Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students come from all over the city of Detroit to be pushed and challenged at the top performing high school in the city. They put in long days between academics, sports, and clubs. Often times they are there longer than many teachers!

They motivate me to always be my best.

Many of my students call me mom - knowing that I am their at-school parent. They are dedicated to achieve and excel in all endeavors. Watch out world, here they come!

My Project

We need a printer and toner for access to a print station to submit their work. Being able to print that paper that you've spent hours writing is essential. Many of my students do not have access to a working printer that also has ink. They scramble between bells, often begging teachers to print for them.

Teachers purchase their own ink in my building.

Unfortunately, this has created quite a problem for those students who seek to submit their work.

I want to set-up a print station so that the mad dash to find a working and willing printer becomes a thing of the past. No longer will this be a worry on my students - they can relax knowing it's covered.
