Writers Become Readers

Help me give my students writing journals that allow them to have one book that contains all their writings and illustrations.

This project is fully funded

My Students

My kindergarten students are curious about the world around them and are so ready to open their minds to new experiences. We belong to a small, tight-knit community that wants their children to succeed. Our school is a Title One school with a variety of ethnic backgrounds. My children come to school excited every day. They are so eager to learn and they are like little sponges. I want the best for my students. They are so sweet and deserve the best.

My Project

Each student having their own writing journal will help us build on our writing skills. We will use these to help us be creative with writing stories and then to illustrate the story in the box provided at the top. This style of journal allows the student to learn the difference between what the author and illustrator does. We will also use them to work on our punctuation and how to structure a sentence. The parents will have all their writings from beginning to end to see the growth that their child has made.
