Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The Title I pre-kindergarten classroom is a program designed to assist students at risk of academic deficit or failure due to economic or language barriers. The planned activities help our students get ready for kindergarten in language, fine and gross motor skills, and social and emotional development as we work on literacy, math, science, and social studies tasks.

The students in my classroom may not have experience with many of the tools and materials found in a typical early childhood classroom.

With the help of outside sources, I will provide a rich environment of age-appropriate tools, materials, and activities for all of the students in my pre-kindergarten classroom.

My Project

Literacy is not only knowing letters of the alphabet and putting their sounds together to make words but then progressing toward the skill of putting those words together into sentences and stories. Finding ways for my young students to continue using and increasing their literacy skills while honoring the sanitizing and social distancing practices in our classroom requires a space that is supplied with the tools and materials they will need for their writing and publishing work.

My students are ready to begin work in a publishing center that includes a generous supply of paper, colorful writing and drawing tools, stickers, tape, and staples.

By adding the supplies in this project to our classroom stencils, paper punches, fancy scissors, and glue, my students will have a good start on creating their own stories and books
