This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am a passionate Kindergarten educator in a public urban inner-city district, the second-largest in Ohio. My students are intellectuals, authors, poets, dreamers, scientists, mathematicians, musicians, and artists. In order to help them reach their full potential in our virtual classroom, we need the tools to expand their experiences and elevate engagement. This is where you come in.
Our school is a Title I school that provides free breakfast and lunch to all students.
My mission is to provide an educational experience that will sustain a love for academia that will last a lifetime and overcome the challenges of virtual learning. In a world where many obstacles exist, join me in the battle to make education a shining beam of opportunity and equality.
My Project
As we return to the classroom this month for in-person learning, students require engaging individualized materials to help them meet their academic goals. A key feature in our classroom is our dedication to rigorous hands-on learning and a focus on Literacy. Utilizing the journals and the word-building game, students will be provided with opportunities to take their literacy skills to the next level.
This project will allow for our class to have individualized journals that will be used as portfolios to document learning.
In addition, these journals will be utilized for cross-curricular topics such as science and social studies units.
