Help me give my students materials necessary for success! Students will have a writing assessment in the spring and I want them to have additional resources to be successful. These workbooks will provide a quality learning experience!
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I currently teach 5th grade scholars in the Miami, Florida area in a difficult neighborhood of extreme poverty. I have enjoyed my year so much that I want to continue on with my scholars next year to 5th grade. My students are bright, intuitive, and have the drive to succeed no matter their circumstances. My students attend one of the lowest-achieving schools with little access to resources and experiences.
My students face unimaginable obstacles inside and outside the classroom.
A majority of my students are at least a grade level behind where they should be, but that doesn't affect their determination to succeed. My students have a growth mindset, and they continue to amaze me with their perseverance and persistence. They will succeed. They will achieve.
The sky is the limit at my elementary school!
My Project
These materials will give my students additional resources to become confident and knowledgable writers. I want my students to become independent, strong writers and actually enjoy the writing process!
My students deserve quality, up-to-date, and effective materials.
I know these magazines will improve my language arts class immensely, and also improve student engagement. I have found that students thrive by using new, innovative resources that are just for them. Supplies are sparse at my school, but I know these writing materials will put my students ahead of their peers and make a difference in their learning in English Language Arts.
