My Students

My students are AWESOME! They are creative, thoughtful and always full of questions! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges! They love to share their ideas and take multiple pathways to find solutions! My kiddos are eager to learn new things and take risks in order to grow both academically and socially.

It's a pleasure to be able to spend my days with such amazing children.

They always seem to try their best despite many challenges they face in school and at home. I work in an extremely urban school district with very large class sizes ranging between 25-32 students year after year. Our district has been suffering from devastating budget cuts. Every September teachers are asked to do more with less. Our district will be fully remote for Quarter 1 2020-2021.

Many of my students are English Language Learners or are on Individualized Education Plans. My goal is to differentiate instruction to the best of my ability. In my classroom all students get what they need. My main goal is to teach from the heart and make our classroom feel like home. Teachers who love teaching, teach children to love learning. That's me!

My Project

White Boards would be very beneficial for my students and me. The white boards I am asking for are dry erase. They would save lots of paper and reduce supply costs for families. Students would love to use the white dry erase lap boards and markers instead of paper and pencils. The white boards would facilitate practice of skills and give students freedom to solve problems. The best part is students will be able to use and reuse their white boards during our online sessions!

White dry erase boards will be the perfect addition to remote learning and be a wonderful addition to our classroom when we're able to physically return to school.

I'd be able to use my own white board to model and record ideas and strategies. Students would then be able to continue their work independently directly in front of them then hold up their board to be able to show their thinking to their classmates and to me. During my teacher prep period, I'll be able to prepare lessons/examples ahead of time on my board.

I would LOVE to be able to send home a white board, notebook, and box of crayons for my students to use while learning at home. Currently we do not have white boards. During the spring I found that my students did not have paper and supplies at home.

Thank YOU very much for your consideration.
