Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My students are very eager to learn even though they have not always had the best growing up. They try their best to work and learn each day because they understand the importance of schooling in their lives. My students would greatly benefit from a Magnetic Write and Wipe Big Book Center. This center would serve various functions in our classroom. It would be a place where the students could gather around to comfortably see and hear a big book being read. This unit would also help their writing and spelling because they could use dry-erase markers to write and magnetic letters to spell. This unit would also act as a center where children could meet and read big books in pairs, in groups, or independently. This Magnetic Write and Wipe Big Book Center would be a huge asset to our classroom for learning and displaying literacy information. I am a first year, first grade teacher in an urban school in Charlotte, NC. My children have not always had the most adequate or abundant necessities growing up. As a result, I try to provide the most for them. However, as a new teacher, I am not financially able to provide as much as I would like. The Magnetic Write and Wipe Big Book Center would be a great opportunity for my students to further develop their literary and language skills. This storage center would be a neat, fun way to encourage students to work together and to independently enhance their language concepts. The center is a creative, hands-on way for children to have fun while learning.
