My students need 4 dictionaries, and challenging and inspiring writing centers and materials to motivate and foster the author in each one of them.

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Any time is the "write" time to encourage young students to put their thoughts and ideas on paper. They are budding authors who only need the "write" tools. As kindergartners, they have all the creativity and imagination required. They just need assistance in printing, spelling, and word choice.
I have a diverse group of students.
Their needs vary from learning to hold a pencil correctly to learning to edit their many words for better understanding. Half of the students started their education in pre-school and have a strong understanding of the alphabet and phonics. They are ready to write independently. The other half, still has some trouble with alphabet and word knowledge but have very creative ideas and are seeking for help in sharing their ideas on paper.
My Project
With your support, I would like to give my class some tools for use in writing centers and for independent writing. I have selected items that will meet the needs of my different leveled groups.
The magnetic letters will be used as a center for students to manipulate letters and sounds to create words before writing the word on the white boards. The white board and white board center will be a versatile component as it can be a part of this center and different centers as the students develop more skills.
The sight word cards and simple word cards will add to a center for the students who are ready to write sentences but need help with spelling the words. They will also have access to the picture dictionaries.
My final choice was for the writing prompt pockets. They will be for my more advanced students who have a lot to say and know how to say it. They just need some challenging and motivating prompt choices to get them on their way. Everything on this list will be well used.:)
You are the key to making this all happen.
My students are learning and growing everyday. They are eager to write and illustrate. The only tools we have had so far have been pencils, crayons, paper, and our imaginations. With these tools they have done well. I believe with the requested tools, they will be motivated to write everyday with more details and in depth. They will gradually be able to express themselves beyond one or two sentences. We hope to write many thanks to our donors very soon.
