For many children, their school becomes a place that is safe and comfortable. With that being said their classroom becomes their home away from home. This is true for my students. However, this second home is one that is extremely diverse in many aspects.
My students are bright and have so much to offer one another with all their different cultures and even life experiences.
My students' needs also vary depending on them. We know all individuals are different, which means their style of learning is different, and their emotional needs are different. I have students who fall on grade level, where others fall above and below too. Another diversity within the classroom is English Language Learners.
Each and every student within the class fits perfectly into our class puzzle. We, as a whole, are each a puzzle piece, put together to create one amazing piece of art. I like to call this art... family.
My Project
In fourth grade, student grow their independence and take hold of their own education. Within my classroom, I always want to provide my students with all opportunities. Student begin to voice their ideas and I help my students come out of their shell and feel comfortable.
One way to have my students embrace their creativity is through writing.
In fourth grade the curriculum is depending on how their craft and style of writing grows and even the details in which they include in their writing. What better way to be proud of your final writing piece than to see it published by typing the final piece and then having it be printed for all to read.
As an educator I love to see my students feel so accomplished and proud of themselves. By printing their finished product it allows them to fully see how much they have accomplished.
