Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The students in my class attend an urban school district with limited financial resources. Most of the students receive free or reduced-price lunch. They have a range of learning abilities and come from diverse backgrounds. The typical student in my class needs activities that promote unity and teamwork. My students need ways to communicate with others in fun and engaging ways.
My students deserve an opportunity to interact and thrive in a diverse classroom that supports and promotes twenty-first-century standards and expectations.
My students need resources to address a variety of deficiencies in social and emotional learning and academic grade-level expectations. They cannot afford to buy the basic resources needed for an engaging and rigorous learning experience due to the pandemic's financial strain.
My Project
I am requesting more whiteboard notebooks so all my students can have a whiteboard notebook. These books are an incredible way for them to turn their hand-written notes into the virtual world. Students will be able to upload their work virtually, which provides easy access to notes inside and outside of school. When my students are working at home, they will be able to send me their work in their own handwriting, just as I would see it if we were in class.
The whiteboard books are reusable and will not only help to reduce the burden on trees but will also help to make our planet habitable for everyone over time.
Whiteboard notebooks will truly make a difference in and out of class. Students will be able to track their work and save paper. Learning that helps the planet is definitely out of this world. With daily use, the books will cut down on the incredible amount of paperwork and notebooks that students go through each year, saving families a substantial amount of money.
