My Students

Oh my goodness we are running out of writing materials. As the year progresses, and our writing skills are enhanced, we are using more and more paper each day. Could someone please help us before we completely run out?

My students attend school at a Title One, Magnet, IB-PYP school in which over 80% of our students receive free and reduced lunch.

In my classroom I have 100% of students receiving free and/or reduced lunch with 50% of them being English Language Learners. One of my students' favorite subject is writing. However, we are slowly running out of writing materials.

My Project

At this time I am asking for materials to supplement our slowly depleting paper supply, new items for our writing center, crayons, dry-eraser markers, and two resources that include books to help with the writing process. These materials will help my students become better writers, readers, and enhance their creativity. The new center materials will help them write and draw better stories while becoming one step closer to being an author!

This project is so important because my students have quarterly writing assessments.

In the beginning of the year they come to me barely writing a complete sentence and now I have them writing short stories. These materials will help with their writing assessments, the writing process, and their ability to write longer stories. The broad goal is at the end of the year we have an Author's Party in which I publish their stories and share them with their parents.
