This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a teacher in a Public Montessori School, my students are from Hispanic families who are in a high risk of failing in educational terms, they love to come to school and learn with all the activities we have in the Montessori "CASA" environment.

They are very eager to learn about everything: practical life, sensorial language, math, science; social studies and nowadays, they are in the process of learning how to write and read in Spanish as well as in English.

My Project

These materials will allow them to learn how write and read in Spanish and in English. According with the Montessori method, they learn to write before they can read, and that is absolutely fabulous because that is a very logical way to learn: when you are writing you are simply reading! So that allows them to acquire these two fundamental skills to navigate the 21 Century and have all the strengths they need to be successful in their lives.

My students are in the process of learning how to write and read in Spanish and in English using the Montessori method, and these materials will open their minds to world of Knowledge in both languages.
