My Students

My 3rd grade class is full of unique, wonderful, bubbly, personalities. Creative, funny, enthusiastic, and compassionate are words that I use to describe my students. Many of my students come from military families; for some of them, this is their first time in an American school! We are a very diverse class, with six different home languages. I am building life-long readers, lovers of literature, creative thinkers, and effective writers.

Our focus this year is to engage more in STREAM projects, incorporating Science, Technology, Robotics, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics into other content areas.

We are a room of explorers, problem-solvers, authors, mathematicians, scientists, historians, and artists!

My Project

Providing my students with writing materials will help them put their thinking down on paper! Pens and stools to sit on are essential to allowing my students to learn. Flexible seating with the stools allows students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them. During independent work times they choose a location in the classroom that works for them. Stools can also be used during my small group instruction time to fit as many students as possible around my small group table. In addition, they can be used as tabletops on the carpet for students who want more choice in their flexible seating.
