Write On...It's Time to Write!

My students need a color printer, ink and paper to create published writing pieces with our new Common Core Writing curriculum.

My Students

Inspire Us! Each day these children face the challenge of their parents being in the military and sacrificing their lives for all of us. On top of this, the students are faced with the challenge of writing everyday in the curriculum. Without these tools, the children cannot share their stories!

As a Title I- low income school, and with 98% of our school being military children, we are in great need of supplies and materials to help us teach the new writing curriculum we were just given.

These children move every 2-3 years. They are always having to adjust to something new such as: a new house, new friends, new school, and new area. However, each student is so willing to learn in each new place! They should not have to have another challenge face them with not having the tools to help them at school as well. These students really have heart and what better way to express themselves than through writing!

My Project

This year we are faced with the challenge of the new common core curriculum which includes writing everyday in every subject. I am requesting a color printer, ink, and paper to help with that. With these tools given, I will be able to allow the children to create finished projects such as: Animal reports and presentations, Writing letters across the world using Flat Stanley a traveling character that even the President of the United States has encountered, create Travel Guides and Brochures to bring the world to others who have not yet experienced that country or new place, and other such writings dealing with friendships they have,sharing their experience of being part of a military family, writing notes to soldiers, holiday writings, publishing class books, etc. just to mention a few. All work will be displayed in the hall unless it is sent to other parts of the world.

Help us learn to write and create pieces that will inspire others as well as help us be better authors!I want my students to enjoy writing while making it fun and being able to publish their work.

I want them to be proud of their writings and share it with others. Please give us the opportunity to learn in a fun and educational way. Sadly enough, it is often said that most college students lack on their writing skills. Don't let this happen, help them start learning now! THEY ARE THE FUTURE!
