Help me give my students editing pens and creative writing idea books for a writing center! I am always trying to grow my classroom in a way that is inviting and engaging for students.

My Project

I am hoping to create the kind of environment that helps my students let their writing flow and able to find ways to edit and create amazing pieces! The kind of environment where they can feel free with their thoughts and become "writers". I hope that the students who enter my classroom know that writing is not just a task that is assigned by teachers, but something that can be done as a hobby for fun! I want them to be able to recognize that there are many ways to be a writer and that there is no correct formula. I want writing to be fun again!

Creative writing encourages students to use their imagination and develop a more comprehensive understanding of language skills.

Additionally important for 5th and 6th graders is allowing a space where they can express themselves without fear of judgment, build confidence, and explore different perspectives. These writing tools and creative writing center will also help develop critical thinking skills for our students and promote emotional well- being of our children.

One of the most important things to me as an educator is fostering a lifelong love of books and reading.
