My Students

Our K-8 school sits in a quiet, rural edge of a large city. My students come to me from a variety of backgrounds and experiences, which makes every day a day to learn about each other and the world.

My students are curious, knowledge hungry 3rd graders in North Carolina.

When I say they are hungry for new learning, I do not exaggerate. My students love to ask questions, but even more so, they love to find the answers to questions.

My Project

Through this project, I am hoping to provide my students with some basic supplies for their writing units this year. My students need composition notebooks and quality coloring tools to use when working on their writing masterpiece. This project will also allow for a storage cart that will allow my students a place to keep the necessary tools and models during Writing Workshop.

Writing is quickly becoming a lost art.

My students will never lose this ability. I want to set them up to become lifelong writers. I strive to make writing fun while also teaching students to use it for expression. During the school year, we will complete four units of writing that will teach students explicitly how to become a successful writer.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
