We are a class of 20 diverse, inquisitive 6 and 7 year olds.
We come to school excited to learn every day.
My students love finding new ways to explore their ever growing curiosity. We are a school that values each of our students for their individual talents and makes every effort to provide any kind of support we can. Some of our students come to school not speaking or understanding the English language, some of our students have had limited exposure to technology, and some have never held a pencil. Students learn and discover their abilities in a non-threatening way when they are able to work together in a classroom community that supports each others growth.
My Project
In both Kindergarten and First Grade my students will learn skills in opinion/argument writing, informative/explanatory writing and narrative writing throughout the school year. Each type of writing creates a separate skill set. These materials will help students remember what is required in each type of writing.
Creating a solid foundation in writing is so important.
These tools will allow my students to write independently which will help them develop confidence in writing.
The materials will also allow my students to work together in pairs, edit each others work and give constructive feedback.
The Build-A Paragraph/Build-A-Story Flip books and Ready to Write! Prompt Box will help all developmental levels and allow me to differentiate my writing assignments.
