I teach at a Title I school with a high need for support due to income base and the physical dynamics of the home. I believe a school should be their safe haven to feel protected, loved, and successful. I love that our room is a place to call home and work together as a family.
I give each child a chance to express who they are and work to their full potential.
A growth mindset plays a critical role in our daily learning process in our classroom. From day one, I begin building relationships with each and every one of my students to ease any anxiety I can that occurs on a daily basis. Children in my room quickly respond to this. In turn, the trust is formed that I believe in them and they begin to believe in themselves!

My Project
These writing tools will create the space needed to build lifelong writers and readers in my classroom. We work hard every day to build our stamina to create content in various styles from small moment narratives to persuasive paragraphs and beyond. I want my students to feel successful, confident, and proud of their published work.
Providing the right tools and environment is key in lower elementary.
I want them to want to write and not the feeling of having to write about life experiences and items of interest.
