My Students

My class is a group of super energetic five and six year olds who love learning! They love to prove what they know in math and are so eager to improve their reading skills! We are a Title I school in Missouri where a large percentage of the children come from very low income households and receive breakfast and lunch here at school. The parents of my students care deeply for their children and do all they can to provide for them.

Like any teacher, I want the best for my students and will do all I can to ensure that they learn to their fullest potential.

Kindergarten aged students are such a joy to teach. They truly are little sponges and soak up so much information. Knowing that some of my students' families have difficulties to overcome makes me want to try to compensate wherever possible in order to help them be as successful in learning as they can be.

My Project

My students will have many opportunities this year to write the final drafts and illustrate their stories on their tablets. I think it would be so amazing for them to be able to be able to print their stories out in full color! How incredible would it be for a five year old to become a "published" author!

I truly believe that this would bring another level of pride and ownership to their work if they could hold a printed, polished copy of their hard work.

I know the Brother printer would be perfect for the job. Building on one success to another will only increase their abilities and desire to do even better. I am always looking for ways to increase my students willingness and desire to work hard and achieve more.

Having the incentive of becoming a "published" author would be the carrot for many of my students. It would be amazing to see their work hanging on the wall in full color, just the way they created it-only slick and polished and professional. What a way to excite a group of aspiring writers!
