This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are vibrant, challenging, inquisitive and loving children doing the best that they can on any given day. They are full of smiles and cheer and have personalities that will melt your heart. They come from low income homes but have hearts filled with love and hope. They deserve everything that I can give them and then some. Many of them experience life's daily struggles and have difficulty showing up for school. They are only seven and eight years old, and seek for learning either with "in-person" or online virtual learning.

Our school is 100% free breakfast and lunch.

We have the highest rate of ELLs (English Language Learners) in the state and have a high number of special education students. My class has students with a range of disabilities including intellectual disabilities, emotional disturbance, autism spectrum disorder and specific learning disabilities. Despite the challenges they face outside of school, students show up to our school excited to learn. They need tools that will help them reach their goals.

My Project

Covid-19 has hit education hard. As educators we face daily challenges to provide our students with the basis and most equitable education we can. Families in our district, were able to choose between virtual leaning or in-person. As the virtual teacher, I am responsible for implementing daily lessons for 27 third grade students. The items that I am requesting will provide me with resources for online learning.

Markers will be given to students to use for at home with writing words and mathematical instruction.

The write and wipe boards will be used throughout the day in the areas of spelling and completing math equations.
