My Students

I'm excited to be working with 10 students with disabilities in the general education classroom. Inclusion is my passion and I want to make sure each of these kids feel welcome and apart whenever they enter the room. They will not be defined by their deficits but by their attributes.

Each student in my class has a unique learning style.

Differentiation is the key to helping them reach their benchmark and annual goals. Quite simply, we do whatever it takes so that everyone is successful.

My Project

There are a few students on my caseload who need a speech recognition tool and noise canceling headphones to write out their thoughts. These students have the cognitive capacity to orally say what they need to say but lack the cognitive ability to spell so that others can get what they are trying to relay.

I am requesting an iPad bundle because Apple has some fabulous assistive technology features on their products that my students will be able to use.

The headphones would be an added benefit because in the classroom there may be other students talking which would be picked up by the tool if they did not have the microphone.
