Many of them lit up as they explored the books in their home languages, comfortable seating areas, and visual aids that helped them better engage with lessons. One memorable moment was when a newcomer student who recently arrived from El Salvador found a bilingual book that mirrored their experience; their eyes sparkled with recognition, and they proudly read a page aloud to their classmates. These resources have helped build not only language skills but also confidence and a stronger sense of belonging in our classroom.\r\n\r\nWe are now using the materials daily to support academic discourse, cooperative learning, and social-emotional growth. Students have begun working on a collaborative identity mapping project where they share their cultures, traditions, and languages with one another, using the new materials to make connections and celebrate their differences.
