Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come from low socio-economic backgrounds. About 90% of the students at my school receive free school lunches. In my classroom alone, 80% of my students are English Language Learners. Students in my class are limited to resources at home, with most coming from families who work in the fields. However, they come to school every day, work hard, and are eager to learn new things.
Despite the challenges my students face in and out of the classroom, they aspire to succeed.
My goal is to create meaningful learning experiences for my students. It is my mission to provide them with the tools and support they need to be successful.
My Project
My students like working collaboratively in groups. They also enjoy using whiteboards to practice blending and math skills. I love to see how engaged they are when they make a mistake and erase it with their eraser. I find that not only is their level of engagement much higher , but their understanding of the concepts also increase. This dry erase kidney table will allow me to engage my students while increasing their understanding of skills and concepts.When students work together , they perform better and their level of engagement also increases. I am so excited to see how thrilled my students will be when they get called to the table to collaborate with their peers while working on academic content.
