This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
We are a wonderful, tight-knit school in a high-poverty urban area. Our teachers do so much with so little and want all of our children to succeed! Our students come to school eager to learn and excited to be there.
One of the great things about our school is that it provides a place of stability for our students.
Our students face obstacles that no child should ever face. However, they are resilient and strive to do their best every single day!
My Project
My students are in need of containers to store art and math supplies. Many of our art and math supplies are stored in old, broken containers. We always try to make due with what we have but it would be nice to be able to supply my students with quality storage!
A new Stem Sink and Float kit will be used in our science area for many investigations!
We will study and make predictions on objects that sink and float and use the scientific investigation method to determine why objects sink and float. This kit can also be used in math for counting and graphing. How many objects are in the water. How many sunk? How many floated?
We are also in need of dry erase boards with erasers to practice our writing skills! These dry erase boards make learning to write fun! The smoothness of writing with dry erasers on boards makes writing easier than if it were paper and pencils.
