My Students
My students are excited learners who ENJOY project-based learning and STEAM opportunities They are inquisitive and creative learners who thrive in a hands-on learning environment. Unfortunately, many also have other descriptors such as high-poverty, English as a second language, and special needs. However, my students do not let these additional life challenges define them or their desire to learn. Please help me to help them level the playing field. Over 90% of the students in my school qualify for the federal standard for free or reduced lunch.
The needs of my students are very different and unique, just like them!
All of the students are at a minimum, three grade levels below and are on an individualized education plan to help close their academic gaps. Any time that we are able to learn something new through a hands-on or real-world experience we take full advantage of the situation.
My Project
The use of whiteboards is almost a daily activity in my classroom. Using the whiteboards allows me to see exactly what they are doing and provide immediate feedback on their work. A problem is that the markers dry out and the whiteboards slowly become stained from frequent use.
By contributing to our project, you will help to improve and increase student attention and increase their engagement.
When the students are engaged in the lesson they retain more information and show the success on classroom assignments giving them the confidence they need to be successful when taking the state, and district test.
