My students are 6th, 7th, and 8th grade computer, technology, and video production learners. They are highly motivated to learn and keep up with the new technology, coding, hardware, electronics, and robotics. They are a diverse group of cultures, genders, learning styles, and motivations for learning. This elective class set supports the ISTE, CTE, and CCSS standards for learning in middle school. My students are hands-on learners. They want to learn about electronics, computers, technology, and anything that they can make do what they want it to do.
My Project
Our students come in many sizes and our counters and chairs do not. Our counters are too high for most 6th grade bodies. The chairs are set height so many 6th graders end up sitting on their feet. Most students can't get their body into a position for proper keyboard work to protect their hands and wrists. My hope is that with these stools we can start to help students find proper positioning for their wrists so that typing and computer work will not hurt them in the long run and to allow students that need to move can use the rocking feature.
When bodies are comfortable and protected we can develop better skills and habits.
By donating to this project you are helping students find the movement and off balance that their bodies need and protect their wrists to create life long learners.
