My students are creative, ambitious, and eager to learn new things. They ask thoughtful questions, work together to achieve goals, and love predicting what will happen next in new stories. They love hands-on projects that challenge them in an engaging way. We spend part of almost every class period reading independently, so students are able to explore new worlds through literature.
We are at a middle school in rural Tennessee.
Though students are sometimes limited in supplies and technology, they are not limited in creativity and kindness. If anyone can prove to be adaptable, it's these students!
At the end of the school year, my 7th grade English/Language Arts class participates in a novel study that incorporates and reviews the standards we have learned throughout the year. Our class novel is A Wrinkle In Time by Madeleine L'Engle.
Our current set of novels are old, ripped and have pages/covers missing.
Additionally, the books are not all the same set and finding the corresponding page number for all 5 versions we have is tedious and time consuming.
In this novel study, we answer questions about each chapter, learn new vocabulary, analyze characters, plot, and themes, and incorporate hands-on activities into the study of this classic novel.
Thank you for helping us get the resources we need to complete our novel study!
